This World Cancer Day, Breast Cancer Ireland Patient Supporter Dawn Fahy is backing the #MoreThanALump education and awareness campaign which aims to highlight the lesser known signs and symptoms of the disease. Now in recovery, Dawn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at just 33 years of age, having waited a number of months before visiting her GP, having experienced a slight tingling in the breast, rather than a lump. Breast Cancer Ireland today reveals stark research findings indicating that only 34% of the Irish women check their breasts monthly as advised, and 30% are still unsure as to what to look for with regards to the 8 signs and symptoms of the disease.
