Fingal County Council
Fingal County Council has lodged a joint planning application for a €10m redevelopment of Howth Castle. The massive revamp would involve conservation and restoration works on the castle, and its grounds. If it gets the green light, up to 150 new jobs would be created on completion, with 100 jobs during the construction phase. Tetrarch Capital and the Michael J Wright Group are partnering on the project, and plan to create a visitor and tourist destination.
A GROUP of 25 ‘Old Irish Goats’ originating from the national herd in Mulranny, Co Mayo, have just arrived in their new home on Howth Head as the first phase of a conservation grazing project aimed at reducing wildfires.
